CHOPIN SESSIONS 2024

Welcome to the "Chopin Sessions 2024 Masterclasses and Concerts", an event dedicated to young pianist seeking artistic advice of renown pianists and professors.

For this edition our invitation accepted:

 1.  LOCATION AND DATES

Chopin Sessions 2024 will be held in Felanitx, Mallorca, at the CONSERVATORIO PROFESIONAL DE MUSICA DE FELANITX  (Rector Planes 38, 07200 Felanitx).

The Chopin Sessions will start on  April 2^nd at 9.00 and will end on April 7^th. 

Arrival and departure dates for participants are:

              – arrival            – April 1^st  (Monday)

              – departure     – April 8^th  (Monday)        

2.  RULES OF PARTICIPATION AND GENERAL CONDITIONS

 a)  The participation fee is 600 Euro and includes:

•     6 lessons (50 minutes each), two with each of the three piano professors
•     practice facilities
•     Chopin Sessions 2024 diploma confirming active participation

b)  Participants may book additional lessons with any of the three professors. The price of the extra lesson is 100 Euro each. In case of high demand, organizers reserve the right to limit the amount of available extra lessons.

 c)  Repertoire for the classes should consist of at least 25 minutes of piano solo works ranging from baroque to 20th century

 d)  The number of active participants is limited; There is no age limit; Selection of participants will be based on the artistic and pianistic level of submitted recordings; In case of several applications of comparable level, the order in which they were received will be taken into account.

e)  Application process:

•     candidates should submit the Application Form with a link to candidate's recording no later than by 15th of January 2024
•     No later than on January 20th the candidates will receive an email confirming their acceptance/rejection

  Candidate's recording

•  recording should be of 7 - 15 minutes in length (audio or video) and should contain one or more solo pieces by any renown               classical composer
•  it should be sent in digital form
•  recording should be of a decent quality (use non- or little compressed formats)
•  files should be uploaded to a hosting services (e.g. Youtube or WeTransfer ) and the download link should be included in the           application form; if you are uncertain of how to proceed with the upload, please take a look at the instruction "How to send us files"
•  candidates who took part in previous editions of the Chopin Sessions do not need to provide the recording

 f)  Payment

• After receiving the acceptance confirmation on January 20th, the candidate must transfer the Application Fee of 200 € until January 25th to the bank account of Conservatori Professional de Musica de Felanitx: See the details at the bottom of the page.
• The remaining Course Fee of 400 € should be transferred to the same account by March 15th.
• Confirmation of the payments should be sent to chopinsessions@musicafelanitx.com

g)  Travel and accommodation:

 All costs involved in coming to and staying in Felanitx (transport, hotels, living expenses and insurance costs) are the responsibility of a participant.

 3.  SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS WHO ARE UNDER AGE

 The parent or legal guardian of the participant who is under age, declares his or her agreement with the fact that the Conservatorio Profesional de Musica de Felanitx cannot assume any responsibility for supervising the participant who is under age. This applies in particular to behavior immediately before the beginning or at the end of the masterclass/course and outside the rooms where the masterclass/course is held. The parent or legal guardian is responsible for damage caused by the participant who is under age.

 4.  LIABILITY

 Participation in the Chopin Sessions occurs at the participant’s own risk. Participants are responsible for damage which they may cause.

 5.  SEVERABILITY CLAUSE

If individual terms of these terms and conditions are or become ineffective, the validity of the other terms of these general conditions are not thereby affected. The ineffective term is replaced by a substitute provision which comes closest to the intended regulation.

6. GDRP

In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDRP), which regulates the right to information in the collection of data, we inform you of the following points:

Your personal data will be processed by FUNDACIÓ FELANITX PER A LA MÚSICA I LES ARTS ESCÈNIQUES for the purpose of carrying out its foundational activities. Your data may be transferred to the entities necessary to perform these steps. This data processing is necessary for the proper performance of the activities of the centers belonging to this Foundation and their data will be kept during  the prescription periods established by the law.

We inform you of the possibility of exercising the following rights with regard to your personal data: access, rectification, deletion or omission, limitation, opposition, portability and withdrawal of the consent granted.
